City Radio Preston

A radio station dedicated to Preston and its surrounding area's is finally here.

City Radio Preston is a new brand, compromised of not just high quality shows and entertainment, but professional people dedicated to bringing a highly enjoyable experience to the people of the UK's newest City... Preston!

What started all this?
City Radio Preston is the very first commercial internet radio station to hit the UK targeting just one City and its surrounding area's. All of our marketing is kept within the Lancashire area, majority of that in Preston. We felt the need to bring the people of Preston a bit closer to what is actually going on in and around their City.

What is CRP's aim?
The aim for City Radio Preston is to be 'the' radio station that provides up to date and accurate information on a range of subjects, including Community and Charity events. All of our News, Weather, Travel and Walk/Talk events are all based around Preston, and its surrounding area's including the Fylde, Chorley, Leyland and Longridge area's.

How can I benefit from CRP?
There are many ways in which you can get involved with City Radio Preston. From advertising your business to thousands of people, in YOUR LOCAL area, to getting involved with Charity work, to even maybe helping out at the studio's.

What type of Music does CRP play and intend to play?
When we first drew up our strategies the first thing before anything else was to discuss what type of music we are going to have coming out of your speakers. From past experience, and from alot of Market Research we concluded to stick to 3-4 genres, and STICK with that format.

We decided unanimously that Dance and RnB would be our two main sources of Genre, to follow up we also chucked in a touch of Indie, and then decided ultimately that we would chuck in Genres of music not heard on any other commercial radio station, such as Soca, Reggae, Bhangra and Bollywood. These genres are not generally part of our playlist, but do have 2-3 hour specialist segments, which can be seen on our Schedule page.

The launch went fantastic where now?
Our soft launch was on the 4th of August, the 23rd saw our Presenters first go on-air with our most loved presenter Sally Stone throwing the fireworks for us, on a sunny Saturday. From then on we have shifted things around a tad, just to keep everything fresh, but we still stick to the same format. Same presenters, Same genres of music, and a variety of different shows. Each presenter bringing something different to the table everyday.

What is 'Get Up And Go' ?
Get Up and Go Nights out are City Radio Preston's very own hosted nights out whether it be in the City Centre or a private party on a farm somewhere, every weekend we aim to bring you top quality party nights, be sure to keep tabs on http://www.CityRadioPreston.com/getupandgo to keep up to date with what is happening EVERY weekend!
